Title: 4 bit multiplier in simulink
Post by c1000 on Mar 3rd, 2009, 5:04am

I am modelling transmitter using simulink.
for the digital system, I need full adder and multiplier for 4bit input signals. but i didnt find any blocksets for it.
should I use the "bit operator" to form the full adder, 4bit adder, 4bit multiplier by myself?
I  just want to avoid unnecessary effort.

Use Fixed_to_Int and add as multiply and then Int_to_Fixed.

sorry, i dont catch you....
i dont need to bulid those models like real circuits?
could you explain it in detail?
Thank you very much!!!
a little urgent for me....

How degree do you know signal processing simulator such as Simulink(MATLAB), Ptolemy, SystemVue, SPW(CoWare Signal Processing Designer, SPD), etc. ?

You don't have to bulid as real circuits.
Each block have output data type setting.
And there is Data Type Conversion Block in "Simulink/Signal_Attributes".

I am a beginner for simulink
so easy to get confused...
that's why i need detailed explanation, sorry...
i need to multiply the output of adc (4 bit or 8bit ) and then subtract one by one.

What tool are you familiar with ?

Use ideal DAC and ideal ADC.
