Title: For finding symbolic transfer function in matlab
Post by vamshikrishna on Apr 28th, 2009, 10:14pm

Hi all,
I had found a script for finding transfer function with input as your spice netlist . It very useful, but doesnt support  dependent sources like VCCS etc.

http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/3443

Please let me know if any one have that enhancement to support dependent sources in this script.

Thanks
vamshi

Sorry I don't have any useful information.

This tool requires "Symbolic Math Toolbox of MATLAB".
As far as my understanding, "Symbolic Math Toolbox of MATLAB" is no more than limited version of "Waterloo Maple".

For Wolfram Research,Mathematica, there is also similar tool.

Analog Insydes is a Mathematica toolbox for modeling, analysis, and design of analog electronic circuits.
This can treat controled sources(dependent sources).

Do we need to install mathematica  for that ? Is that a freeware?

Thanks

Yes.

No.
Both "Mathematica" and "Analog Insydes" are commercial products.

"MATLAB", "Symbolic Math Toolbox of MATLAB" and "Maple" are all commercial products.
These are not freeware.

http://www.mathworks.com/products/symbolic/

But if you are student, you can get them with very cheap prices.

Symbolic Math Toolbox in MATLAB contains a portion of the Maple 10 engine but will use a different engine from September 2008.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MuPAD

In September 2008, Sciface was purchased by Mathworks Inc and the Mupad code was included in the symbolic toolbox add-on for Matlab.
