Title: NRZ vs RZ
Post by summi on Sep 28th, 2012, 1:16am

Dear forum,
From text book i came to know the disadvantages and advantages of NRZ and RZ.
NRZ: less BW, but more DC power as well as no signal power at data rate
RZ:  Signal power at data rate, lineaity but Higher BW.

Can any one tell me where RZ will be usefull, upto my knoeledge some high linear DAC's use this coding. But in serial links or data transmission is any one use this??

Br,
Summi.

Systems that self clock (no need for timing recovery) has used this in the past. It no longer is a popular method.
