Hello and thanks for adding me to the forum.

I'm in a process of writing an educational article regarding PCB vias, now I'm at the section that discuss the capacitance and inductance that is associated with different via features, like annular ring size and clearance from nearby planes. Also there is the issue with unused / non functional pads that the PCB designer can choose to keep or remove - please refer to the attached picture.

Now I'd like to make simulation of the step response with various parameter varied. Also would be helpful to run another simulation for calculation of the capacitance and inductance associated with various via features. I could skip that step and estimate but it would not be so accurate.

Any pointer on how to perform these is much appreciated.
