Trouble Running Pnoise in Spectre RF
May 14th, 2003, 2:35am

I run Analog Design Environment v.4.4.6.100 --- my PSS
simulation runs perfectly. When I try to introduce the Pnoise analysis, the Pnoise command is inserted BEFORE the PSS command in the input.scs netlist+command file.
Naturally an error saying, I need to run the PSS prior to the Pnoise analysis appears. I must manually correct the netlist. Has anybody struggled with this problem ?

Check your Setup->Environment form, and look at the setting of
"Analysis Order". There is a "feature" of the tool where if you don't
specify all the analyses that you're running, it doesn't run the rest
in the right order. It runs those which you've specified in this form
correctly.

My guess is that you don't have pnoise in the list? (I think if I remember
rightly, any analyses which aren't in the list are executed in alphabetical
order?)..

There is a PCR (556556 for anyone interested) which asks for any
analyses not specified in the order to be run in the default order.

For now the workaround is to either leave this field blank in the
Setup->Environment form, or to add the analyses in the correct order.

Regards,

Andrew.
