Calculating Period-to-Period Jitter into PhaseNois
Apr 08th, 2004, 3:06am

Hi All,

I have a problem calculating a period-to-period jitter of a analog PLL into phase noise.

Can anyone of you give me an advice on or a hint where I can get more information about it?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

Tom,

Try reading Ken Kundert's paper:

http://www.designers-guide.com/Analysis/PLLnoise+jitter.pdf

In the analysis section there are a couple of other cut down versions of this paper which cover just phase noise or just jitter, if the above paper is too lengthy.

Regards,

Andrew.
