The forum in the product of an open-source software effort. It is called YaBB for "Yet another Bulletin Board". It can be found at http://www.yabbforum.com/.

We basically take what they put out without modification under the theory that our efforts are best expended developing content for the site and not the underlying software. They have a new version that is about to be released. That version supports attachments, which should help some by allowing you to upload gifs, jpegs, and pdfs.
