Diva extract can't extract symbol pin
Mar 20th, 2005, 1:44pm

Dear all

Did anybody can't extract terminal using diva extract? The termnial is with pin type metal1.The warning message is:The terminal is symbol pin.

WARNING:  Terminal vdd! in the layout is not present in the extracted view.
WARNING:  Terminal vin in the layout is not present in the extracted view.

But when I change the pin type to metal2 instead of metal1, the pin can be extracted.

Is that because of the extraction rule or something else?I use ic5033 linux version.I could change all the pin type to metal2 or metal3.But there are a lot of pins for me to deal with.

Thanks for any input

Sorry, the sentence with "The terminal is symbol pin" after the warning message is what I try to tell you the information of pin type, not appeared in the warning message in cadence.

My guess is that your extract rules are not extracting terminals on metal1. A bit odd, but that's what it looks like.

Without seeing the rules, it's hard to be sure.

Andrew.

hi,
usually,in a diva drc rule file, only the conductive layers would be used as the pin, others wouled be exclusive, in my experience, metlas, polys, wouled works, but dualgates ,texts would prompt the warnings. i think it's your rule file exclude the meta1, it's really wield, check your file carefully.
