Req: Paper on LC-vco from Qual Comm
Nov 11th, 2007, 5:09am

There is a paper said to be published by guys from QualComm.

It sense VCO common mode voltage and use that as regulator control. It also used two inductors for 2nd order harmonic rejection.

If you know about it, please upload it here or tell me where i can find it.

thanks

Hi neoflash,
Without more info I think that it's:"A Monolithic Low Phase Noise 1.7GHz CMOS VCO for Zero-IF Cellular CDMA Receivers",byYue Wu and Vladimir Aparin or it's expansion"A Temperature Stabilized CMOS VCO for Zero-IF Cellular CDMA Receivers" that takes into account supply and temperature stabilization. Thet appears at ISSCC 2004 and at 2005 Symposium on VLSI Circuits respectively. As far as I know they can only be obtained via ieee web.
Hope it helps,

this is a pretty simple concept - average the output of the VCO using a CMFB type circuit - compare that value to desired CM voltage, adjust regulator over VCO...

net result desired CM voltage out of VCO as controlled by the voltage regulator over the VCO.
