Senior Analogue IC Design Engineer

Our Client is looking to build its team of IC designers and is offering a chance to join a small but experienced team developing novel systems and circuits allow this exciting technology to be realized in a cost effective manner for use in our Client’s infrastructure products.

Degree qualified (or equivalent) the successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in High speed analogue & Mixed Signal IC design using Cadence tools. Experience in high performance Operational Amplifier design is essential and Switched Mode techniques & linear power supply regulation will be an advantage.

Experience of taking specifications and turning them into transistor designs at a sub cells level and building the design through to top level schematics is necessary. Understanding of processes for power management is required to allow robust design. The candidate will have hands on experience of IC layout as well as working with dedicated IC layout engineers.

The candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, but also communicate well with the other members of the team and contribute where necessary to ensure project completion on time.

Experience Required:

Designed high performance analogue / mixed signal ICs in Bipolar and BiCMOS technologies

High performance operational amplifier design
Performance mainly relates to high speed
Knowledge of topologies & design structures for line drivers & video op-amps
Voltages in the range 5-10V
Good working knowledge of leading edge processes
Used to working with Foundry Design Kits and  working round their limitations
Seen more than 2 design through to commercialisation

Design for process spread and corner cases

Design for test  and creating a test specification for the devices

Power Management

Switched Mode power supply design experience (optional, but desirable)

Linear power regulation design experience (optional, but desirable)

Good knowledge of ESD and Latch-up prevention techniques

Experience with Cadence tool chain is essential
