Measure the THD of a Transimpedance Amplifier
Sep 09th, 2018, 6:42pm

I want to measure the THD of a transimpedance amplifier that is broadband over tens of GHz.

How would I do this in Cadence Spectre/Virtuoso ?  Do I use PSS ?

Thank you.

You could - the Direct Plot after PSS has a THD choice. Alternatively, you could run a transient to find the settled periodic state and then use the thd function in the calculator, but the PSS approach is better as it will ensure you find the settled steady state behaviour of the periodic circuit.

Regards,

Andrew.
