Self Heating Resistor Verilog-A model
Mar 08th, 2023, 12:31pm

Hi,
Would really appreciate if someone can provide or help with making a resistor model that can self heat based on current that is being pushed through it. Also, would be using this in Virtuoso icfb so would like for the model to be able to modify the temperature of the simulation so that the rest of the circuit outside of the resistor can see the new temperature too.

It's been a while since I've done this, but if I remember correctly $cds_set_temperature(temperature_real_variable) worked for setting global temp for the simulation. It's like a dynamic parameter thing though, I don't know if it would cause issues if you do it continuously in real simulation time (updating it every step). Probably would create a lot of convergence issues or maybe not, I have not tried.
