Spectre parasitic reduction
Dec 07th, 2010, 1:24am

Hi all,
In the Analog Design Environment/Setup/"Spectre turbo/parasitic reduction", I've enabled Parasitic Reduction and Options, Fmax=5GHz. What does this Fmax parameter actually do? What does Default and RF do? Where can I find more information about it?

Thanks!

You can find this in the section "Parasitic Reduction" right at the beginning of the "Virtuoso Spectre Circuit Simulator User Guide". Default is 1 GHz, RF is 30 GHz. The idea is probably that the circuit behavior remains essentially unchanged by the parasitic reduction up to the specified frequency.

Oh, thanks! Our version of the manual is from June 2008 so it seems like that information has been added later. Are you having a newer manual?

The information is available in the manual for version 7.2 (May 2010).
