Title: Simulating an injection-locked frequency divider Post by Alez on Feb 22nd, 2005, 8:42am Dear all, I'm trying to simulate a small system containing a VCO and an injection-locked frequency divider (ILFD). In this simulation, I created a VCO runing at a frequency of f_h and created another VCO which is used as the ILFD runing at half of f_h. My question is, since the simulation containing two circuits which run at different frequency, "How should I select the frequency in the PSS simulation of SpectreRF" ? Thank you so much, Alez |
Title: Re: Simulating an injection-locked frequency divid Post by Ken Kundert on Feb 22nd, 2005, 10:35am To simulate with SpectreRF the two oscillators must be locked, so that there is only one fundamental frequency, which would be the output of the divider. This is the frequency you give to SpectreRF. Then the other frequency, that of the VCO, appears to be a harmonic of the fundamental. -Ken |
