Title: Reducing Voltage Source Noise Post by Roby on Feb 28th, 2005, 10:11am I am trying to measure Current response of a tunneling junction by sweeping the voltage from 0 to 0.5V. I measure the noise of v-source alone and found out that it is too high. Can i connect a capacitor across the DUT while taking teh measurement (which is equivalent to a high resistor) to reduce the noise. Thanks Roby |
Title: Re: Reducing Voltage Source Noise Post by August West on Feb 28th, 2005, 12:08pm You can if ... 1. the bandwidth of the resulting RC filter has appreciable attenuation at the frequency of interest. 2. the currents that flow as a result of inserting the capacitor do not in turn cause their own problems. -August |
