Hi,

I am looking for a compact DAC of moderate performance and low speed requirement. I came across the cyclic DAC in a book. Although it seems similar to the MDAC of a pipelined ADC, I am a bit skeptical about using it owing to the fact that it involves using a gain of 0.5 in each stage.

I am concerned that the net effect of all nonidealities will increase tremendously when I use such a scheme.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of a device or any thoughts about it? It does not appear to be very popular as I have never seen anything about it.
