Title: Question: Translation from psd to jitter Post by tumeda on Jan 10th, 2006, 10:25am Question is in following: In the Eqn.56 of Ken's paper(noise and jitter) var(n)=∫0∞Sn(f)df However, in the paper "Jitter and Phase Noise in Ring Oscillator" of Hajimiri in 1999, the jitter is calculated by σΔT2=∫0∞SΦ(f)sin2(πfΔT)df if the ΔT→∞ then σΔT2=2/(ω02) ∫0∞SΦ(f)df Who can help me to understand, why the two transformations are different, and how to explain it? Thanks a lot in advance! |
Title: Re: Question: Translation from psd to jitter Post by greatqs on Nov 9th, 2006, 5:13am first of all, they are different kind of jitter. one is phase jitter or absolute jitter. the other is so-called self referenced- jitter in interval T. To find out extact definition for these. Check out papers by McNeil and Demir on jitter |
