Title: Beat Freuqnency in SpectreRF PSS simulation
Post by adesign on Dec 7th, 2006, 9:28pm

Hi all,

While doing pss setup, the simulator asks for "beat frequency". Please explain what is "Beat frequency in SpectreRF PSS simulation".

I'm doing a ring-oscillator simulation and the expected output frequency is 384MHz. In this case, what value of beat frequency should I feed and why?

Regards

The term "beat frequency" is a very poor choice because it does not apply in the most common case, which is when there is only one fundamental frequency present. In that situation you need to put the fundamental frequency (or in with oscillators, you give an estimate of the fundamental frequency) in that field. In your case, 384MHz.
