Title: Translating Sps to different Impedance level!
Post by jefkat on Jul 3rd, 2007, 8:09am

Hi again  :)
If I have S-paramters (taken with 50 ohm as a referenece impedance) how can I translate these (if I can) to 100 ohm S-parameters?? any cool way?
itinn't mare a scaling factor I reckon
hope to hear from you guys

I believe the standard procedure is to transform to an intermediate set of 2-port parameters, such as impedance parameters using the 50 Ohm reference, and then transform back to s-parameters using the 100 Ohm reference. The key is that the intermediate 2-port parameters are not tied to any reference impedance.
