Title: PSS
Post by smchiu on Aug 2nd, 2007, 4:11pm

Hi guys,
I have a simple question that would like to ask. I have looked at Ken's document on "Simulating Switched-Capacitor Filters with SpectreRF". I have finished reading the part about T/H. In his document, he used an AHDL script to accomplish the simulation for noise etc.

I am just wondering, if I am using the ADE interface to do so, after running the PSS with my input sources set to DC, (i.e. disabled) and later when I want to run the PAC analysis by modifying the input source in the schematic again, would ADE be smart enough to use the operating point result previously from PSS w/ the ?

Thanks.
David.

Hi,

I believe that each PAC needs the corresponding PSS. PSS calculates the periodic operating point around which the AC analysis is performed.
Why can you not perform the analysis with different inputs?

David,

PSS analysis has the option to writepss to create a copy of the operating
point to re-use later. To re-use the operating point use, use the readpss
option. These options are available on the PSS analysis options forms in
ADE. This will allow you to change the inputs for PAC analysis.

                                                        Best Regards,

                                                          Sheldon

You should not modify the sources between the PSS and PAC. Just specify pacmag on the input source, it is ignored by the PSS analysis.
