Title: Monte Carlo Analysis with QPSS Post by nxing on Aug 6th, 2007, 12:08pm Hi there, I am running a Monte Carlo for QPSS analysis and would like to measurement some non-linearity characteristic of a mixer. The problem I am facing is how to pick up a proper harmonic that can be used as part of the expression for Monte Carlo analysis. For example, the frequency of (-1 1 0) and (-1 2 -1). I know I can use function of "Harmonic" from special function of calculator with PSS analysis. How to set it up with QPSS? Thanks |
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Analysis with QPSS Post by Bill Toole on Aug 8th, 2007, 5:17am The syntax for qpss is quite similar to pss, the only main difference is you specify the mixing product for qpss not the harmonic number since there is no "harmonic" as there is in pss Below is the syntax for the magnitude of the IF output voltage of a third order intermod product for a mixer with 2 tones at the RF PSS -> harmonic(v("/IFP" ?result "pss_fd") '(24)) QPSS -> harmonic(v("/IFP" ?result "qpss_fi") '((1 -2 1))) Bill |
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Analysis with QPSS Post by nxing on Aug 8th, 2007, 1:17pm Hi Bill, Thanks for your reply. I actually tried this syntax before and the icfb reports that there are too many parameters for the function of harmonic. Regards, Nxing |
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Analysis with QPSS Post by Bill Toole on Aug 9th, 2007, 4:52am Curious. I got the syntax from from using the Direct Plot Form and selecting the "Add To Outputs" button. You can then copy the expression from the "Setting Output" window into the calculator and it should work fine. I generally do this to make equations/expression that are not in the direct Plot Form and have had no problems unless I have changed the simulation in some way Bill |
Title: Re: Monte Carlo Analysis with QPSS Post by Andrew Beckett on Aug 27th, 2007, 10:09pm nxing, Are you sure you got the parentheses in the right place? You might want to post the expression you used which gave the error about too many parameters? Regards, Andrew. |
