Hello,
I need to design a reference buffer for a successive approximation ADC. This ADC uses a capacitive DAC array. What is the procedure to determine the reference buffer specifications such as settling time, gain , bandwidth, gain margin etc. ??
Is there a document outlining this or can you suggest any set of simulations to determine the above requirements ?

Hi Ajay,

How much capacitance does the buffer drive? What is the clock period? How much bit does the ADC resolve? If you find those answers which depends on your specific implementation, it is easy to determine the settling time, gain, phase margin, bandwidth for an amplifier.
