Title: import external device model in to Cadence Post by cashAZ on Feb 5th, 2009, 2:48pm I have a model for an external diode. The model has been provide by a vendor in spice format. The diode is in my top level verification test. How do I import this model and link it to the diode symbol in my test bench. Thanks |
Title: Re: import external device model in to Cadence Post by Andrew Beckett on Feb 5th, 2009, 3:55pm This post should help http://www.designers-guide.org/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1118940189/1#1. Note that it applies even if the file just contains a model definition rather than a subckt definition. Regards, Andrew. |
Title: Re: import external device model in to Cadence Post by cashAZ on Feb 6th, 2009, 8:36am Hi Andrew, Thanks that helped out a lot. One problem I am still having is the model is actually in P-spice format. Spectre seems to be having problems reading that format. Is there a document on converting from Pspice to spectre? Thanks Dave |
Title: Re: import external device model in to Cadence Post by Andrew Beckett on Feb 6th, 2009, 9:45am Don't think so, sorry. Normally it's only an issue if it's using PSPICE "behavioral" constructs - normal devices are normally OK. Andrew. |
Title: Re: import external device model in to Cadence Post by Geoffrey_Coram on Feb 26th, 2009, 6:20am Is it complaining about the syntax (.model) or a parameter? Spectre might be thinking the file is in Spectre format. |
