Title: Need for a BJT model Post by jqjqjq on May 13th, 2009, 2:55am Hello everyone, These days, I'm simulating a circuit and I found I didn't have models for npn and pnp transistors. I wonder who know how can get them or anyone can give me some help. Thanks in advance. Best wishes. |
Title: Re: Need for a BJT model Post by buddypoor on May 13th, 2009, 3:45am I wonder which simulator engine you are using because all simulators I know have suitable models for BJT´s. Change your program package to PSpice, Microcap, SwCAD, Hspice, Superspice, PSIM, ... .. |
Title: Re: Need for a BJT model Post by jqjqjq on May 13th, 2009, 4:41am Oh, thank you for your help. The software I used is Cadence. It has npn and pnp, but I wonder if it has any model for them? |

There are many simulators working in Cadence ADE. Do you mean Cadence Spectre ? Your purpose is just exercise of designing circuits using BJT ? If so, use "$CDS_INST_DIR/tools/dfII/samples/artist/models/spectre/rfModels.scs". You can find other model files in "$CDS_INST_DIR/tools/dfII/samples/artist/models/spectre" If you want to do exercise of both circuit simulation and physical design using PDK, use gpdk180 or gpdk90 which Cadence provide as example of CMOS PDK. https://pdk.cadence.com/home.do |
Title: Re: Need for a BJT model Post by jqjqjq on May 14th, 2009, 10:50pm Thank you very much for your advices,pancho_hideboo. I feel very sorry that I'm still a beginner in this domain, I mean, the analog design, especially using computer software. Yesterday, I just finished the registration on pdk.cadence.com, where I found many downloadable files, which seemed very similar to the files I downloaded some days ago from NCSU's website. But I don't know how to use them. I wish every suggestion you could give me. Thank you very much. Nowadays, I just want to do exercise of designing circuits using BJT and MOSFET, with technology problems regardless.I'll try the files you suggested to me. Thanks. Please forgive any syntactic error in my words. I'm not from English speaking country. |
