Post by rajivs1001 on Jun 9th, 2009, 2:59pm

Is there any way I could measure the current flowing between source and drain terminal of a transisotr without modifing the netlist ?

Thanks,
-Rajiv

Which simulator are you using? If Spectre in ADE, go Outputs>save all...> and theres an option for terminal currents (userprobe) my mistake, i guess i didnt read the whole thread title

Add the following line to your spice deck:

.PROBE I(Mxx.D)  or
.PROBE I(Mxx.S)

where Mxx is the instance name of the MOS you are interested in.

I was under the impression that I(Mxx.D) measures current between Drain and bulk but I verified that my assumption was not correct.
Thanks for the reply.

Note that I(Mxx.D) includes drain to bulk current, but usually that's smaller than the channel current.
