Title: Antenna Design Textbook - Small Format, Planar
Post by loose-electron on Jun 20th, 2009, 12:56pm

Hey all - I am looking for some suggestions on a textbook on antenna design, small format antennas, planar, pcb type of antennas.

Practical considerations in design, geometry, optimization, are important, not a course in EM design.

My specifc needs are for a receiving antenna design, for 400MHz and 430MHz (one or the other) and able to sit inside something the size of an I-pod.

Textbooks, papers, and other suggestions are all welcome here.

I think loop antenna(electric or magnetic current) is suitable for your application.

Electric current loop antenna and Magnetic current loop antenna(or Slit Antenna) were used in Pager System.
Especially magnetic current antenna is advantageous in the proximity of human body.

This loop antenna is novel.

The following book is very good and useful.

This is a popular PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna).
