Title: inductor from transmission line
Post by .matteo on Jul 27th, 2009, 11:05am

Hi everybody
I am trying to design my inductors using transmission lines. I would like to obtain 50pH ideally up to 150GHz (I know, its difficult) ..I would like to ask you if the equations I use to check the quality factor and the value of the inductance of my transmission line is correct:

1) for Q I use Q = imag(Z(1,1))/real(Z(1,1))
2) for L I use L = deriv(imag(Z(1,1)))/2/pi

do you think this is the best way to do it? Am I doing something dramatically wrong?

Thanks
-Matteo
