Title: Separate real and imag part of complex signal in AC analysis
Post by Aspwy on Aug 5th, 2009, 6:07am

Dear all,

is it possible to separate real and imaginary part during AC analysis in Cadence Spectre or Mentor Eldo (or SPICE3)?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
aspwy

Hi,

In the ADE calculator you have both"real" and "imag" functions for such purpose.

Tosei,

thanks for your reply, but ADE calculator is not available _during_ AC simulation.

Kind regards,
aspwy

Hi aspwy,

I use the calculator from ADE all the time after I run an AC simulation (or any other non-periodic analysis).
I think you might have something wrongly configured.

:)

Please note that _during_ is not equal to _after_. I have no difficulties extracting real and imaginary part of complex signal _after_ the AC simulation. Unfortunately, I would like to do so _during_ the AC simulation (to use it for behavioral modeling).

Thanks,
aspwy

Just a guess, but maybe using a transient analysis with a frequency swept sine source will allow you to do what you want.
