Title: the CMOSRF model need to be excluded or not?
Post by casual on Mar 10th, 2010, 4:35am

How do I know whether the CMOSRF model need to be excluded or not when running Calibre xRC??  I have read some websites about the need to exclude RF cmos model since the parasitic has been characterized. In short, to avoid double count the parasitic.

eg: like putting into xcell list in calibre setup..

new in using RF model.

In general the passive parasitics are included in a proper RF model.
Therefore they should be prevented to be extracted.
Some foundry include this already in their run sets others not.
The best is to check the correct flow with your foundry.

thanks for your info.

I look at the extracted netlist. It looks fine. The RFCMOS transistor include w l nx m without any parasitic RC like ad as pd ps nrs nrd
Does it mean the netlist does not double count the parasitic?

Just want to confirm how to check.

Beside this, i did postlayout run and compare prelayout result. It looks almost the same, off 1%. I used inverter as a test case
