What is the difference between simple demodulator and Multi carrier demodulator?

a multi-carrier demodulator is what it says, a demodulator for multiple carriers.  basically, when you do multi-carrier modulation, you modulate multiple carriers with your message signal.  modulating multiple carriers give you better interference immunity, higher data rate, or some combination of the 2.  you can check Wikipedia.

sorry if that is a bit vague.
