Title: AMS +elaborate+error Post by mustangyhz on Nov 22nd, 2010, 3:47am ncelab: *W,CUNOUN: Cannot find any unit under chrt18base.RFNMOS_1P8:spectre in the design libraries. ncelab: *E,CUCFUN: instance 'NM0' of the unit 'RFNMOS_1P8' is unresolved in 'pllmml.dts:schematic'. how can I solve this? one solution: Because the AMS simulation is different from spectre, so we must use the CIW-Conversion Tool Box-AMS simInfo form Spectre to creat the simulation information of the PDK. After doing this, my simulation still can not run. why? help!!! |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by mustangyhz on Nov 22nd, 2010, 5:24am CIW-Conversion Tool Box-AMS simInfo form Spectre liberary name: the library name of PDK or my design library? process allcells in the library: select or not? process only cells with the following view: select or not? if AMS simulation information exists: only copy termmapping field select or not? overwrite ams simulation information select or not? mark a cell as a primitive: if any of modelmame/model/modelname are found select or not? if the cell has a spectre view select or not? |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by sheldon on Nov 22nd, 2010, 8:51pm Mustangyhz, Maybe you should spend some time working with your local support. It seems like you need someone to help you through setup and simulation process. BTW, unless you are using a very old version of AMS Designer you should only need Spectre simulation information and you should not need to create an ams siminfo section. Best Regards, Sheldon |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by mustangyhz on Nov 22nd, 2010, 10:21pm I have installed ic5141 user6, ius8.2,mmsim610. Are they too old? |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by mustangyhz on Nov 23rd, 2010, 12:27am I have changed the pdk to tsmc. I have got the siminfo->ams. I still got these error: ncelab: *N,SFEDPL: Deploying new SFE in analog engine. ncelab: *W,CUNOUN: Cannot find any unit under tsmc18rf.rm1:spectre in the design libraries. ncelab: *E,CUCFUN: instance 'R0' of the unit 'rm1' is unresolved in 'pllmmlverilogtsmc.plltop:schematic'. why? |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by jerome_ams on Nov 24th, 2010, 9:38am Hi, How are you defining the model (Cadence view) you want to simulate for R0? What kind of component is R0? A spectre resistor? Cheers, Jerome |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by mustangyhz on Nov 24th, 2010, 4:09pm jerome_ams Cadence view name: spectre Rm1 is a spectre resistor? thanks mustangyhz |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by jerome_ams on Nov 29th, 2010, 8:40am I usually give "symbol" view in the hierarchy editor for components of the analogLib. What occurs if you do a right mouse click on the spectre view in your hierarchy editor and click then on "compile"? |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by mustangyhz on Nov 29th, 2010, 5:14pm components of the analogLib is ok! Cannot find any unit under chrt18base.RFNMOS_1P8:spectre in the design libraries. |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by bernd on Nov 30th, 2010, 2:42am I don't know which tools versions you were using and if you use the ADE environment as AMS interface, but if so you may give the OSS-based netlisting a chance Simulation -> Netlist and Run Options OSS-based netlist with irun * |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by jerome_ams on Dec 1st, 2010, 6:06am yes, u could try a Netlist All (default: incremental), Compile All (default: incremental) from the AMS>Netlist and Run>Run Options Menu in Hierachy Editor. It might it that the model u want to simulate is not "pre-compiled" like the components in the analogLib... U should be able to compile it, doing what Bernd proposed. If it complains that the library containing your spectre model is read only, and thus thaht it can not compile, then Assign a TMP for this Lib Hope it helps jerome |
Title: Re: AMS +elaborate+error Post by Andrew Beckett on Jan 2nd, 2011, 10:09pm Most likely you've just not specified the path to the spectre models for the transistors. If using ADE this is under Simulation->Model Libraries (just as it is for spectre). There's a similar menu if using the AMS Plugin in the hierarchy editor. Regards, Andrew. |
