Title: Spectre parasitic reduction Post by Rapid on Dec 7th, 2010, 1:24am Hi all, In the Analog Design Environment/Setup/"Spectre turbo/parasitic reduction", I've enabled Parasitic Reduction and Options, Fmax=5GHz. What does this Fmax parameter actually do? What does Default and RF do? Where can I find more information about it? Thanks! |
Title: Re: Spectre parasitic reduction Post by Frank Wiedmann on Dec 7th, 2010, 1:54am You can find this in the section "Parasitic Reduction" right at the beginning of the "Virtuoso Spectre Circuit Simulator User Guide". Default is 1 GHz, RF is 30 GHz. The idea is probably that the circuit behavior remains essentially unchanged by the parasitic reduction up to the specified frequency. |
Title: Re: Spectre parasitic reduction Post by Rapid on Dec 7th, 2010, 2:04am Oh, thanks! Our version of the manual is from June 2008 so it seems like that information has been added later. Are you having a newer manual? |
Title: Re: Spectre parasitic reduction Post by Frank Wiedmann on Dec 7th, 2010, 4:00am The information is available in the manual for version 7.2 (May 2010). |
