Title: AC analysis plotting
Post by aaron_do on Feb 15th, 2011, 12:32am

Hi all,

in the PAC analysis, I can directly plot gain (or effectively, any transfer function) in terms of magnitude, or the real and imaginary parts. However, I find that in the normal AC analysis, this is not possible. Is there any equivalent analysis I can use to directly plot gain in terms of the real and imaginary parts?

regards,
Aaron

I assume that you are using the Virtuoso Analog Design Environment from Cadence? You can use the calculator to plot real and imaginary outputs from an AC analysis.

Hi,

thanks for the tip. But the AC analysis alone only plots voltages or currents, not gains. So it would take some manipulation in the calculator. In the PAC analysis it is done automatically. Actually I found that I can run a PSS with a semi-random beat frequency, and a PAC analysis on top of it to directly find the gain.

Aaron
