Title: LNA at Ku band
Post by jayce3390 on Mar 7th, 2011, 10:25am

Hi all,

I need to design a LNA in the Ku frequency band (close to 14 GHz). I would like to use discrete  packaged pHEMT transistor which could be mounted with PCBs.

My question is :

If I make the choice to go with non MMIC process, what is the best laminate I should use to design my hybrid LNA?

:)

jayce3390,

The most common laminate is probably a two layer Rogers 4003c.  Which is used in almost almost all satellite TV LNB's.  Its cheap and thermally stable.
