Title: Transimpedance amplifier
Post by Muhammed on Jun 14th, 2012, 4:40pm

Hello all ..

I design TIA using CG topologies with current source .. but i don't knew how to simulate it in cadence ... i did not find any port supply current

Anyone found current port in cadence please tell me .. thanks in advance

What do you mean by current port? For a current source, you can use isin from analogLib....

yes i knew isin .. but in noise analysis you cannot perform it unless there is a port .. so i am asking about current port ???

I found large amount of noise about 50dB thermal noise which is not reasonable so i am asking about how i could do it right

Are you just simulating the TIA by itself?

If so, then you should be able to use "noise" analysis where an input port is not explicitly needed.

If your results are not what you expect, then it is probably a good idea to double check the simulation bench set up or look at the noise contributor summary to see which devices are contributing the most noise at the output. Perhaps this will help you debug why the noise is not what you expect or like.

my noise setup test bench ....

i put port instead of isin .. then balun to give me the differential input
and i made it dc source not sine

is that right ?? i want to calculate NF so cadence told me i should put port but this port is a voltage port not current port ... so is this result right ??

thanks for your replying :)
