Title: Where to start for Verilog AMS?
Post by visbi on Jul 16th, 2013, 12:33pm

Hi all,

I am a newbie to verilog AMS, I am looking for some kind of help to start with verilog AMS. My immediate goal is to create test bench for simple analog circuitry like amplifer using it.

Is there any way by which I can instantiate verilog files in my verilog AMS module or vise a versa?

Thanks in advance

If you are using Cadence tools, I would suggest the Rapid Adoption Kit "Introduction to AMS Designer Simulation" available from http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:DocumentViewer;src=wp;q=ProductInformation/Custom_IC_Design/ApplicationPackages/CIC_RAK_Home.htm and the Verilog-AMS Language Reference available from http://support.cadence.com/wps/mypoc/cos?uri=deeplinkmin:DocumentViewer;src=pubs;q=/verilogamsref/verilogamsref13.1/verilogamsref.pdf. A lot of information is also available on this site at http://www.designers-guide.org/VerilogAMS/.

What I forgot to mention: You can find a pretty good introduction to modeling techniques in chapter 3 "AMS Behavioral Modeling" of the Mixed-Signal Methodology Guide, which is available in four pdf files from http://www.eetimes.com/author.asp?section_id=36&doc_id=1286611.

Ken, it might be a good idea to add this link to the section "Other Resources" of http://www.designers-guide.org/VerilogAMS/.
