Dear Members,

I am new to this forum. I am trying to simulate a microstrip patch antenna in ADS momentum. The tutorial I am following is

But results of my simulations are not right I think. I have also attached my results

Any pointers on what could be the issue ? Any tutorial on designing a microstrip patch antenna would be appreciated.

Looks like a Test bench or setup issue.

Are you sure you have the right model files ? I have not used Momentum before, but I am guessing you need to setup the material properties and antenna X-Y-Z dimensions.

I am guessing you'll need ports correctly inserted for it to work.

If possible, look at tutorials from ADS first to get a hang of the tool.

Good luck and don't forget to report back on where it went wrong and how you fixed it ...

I went through the tutorial again and couldn't find any issue that could give false results. I set material properties and and antenna dimensions similar to what is given in the tutorial. My antenna layout looks like this

I would definitely give feedback on the forum after resolving the issue.

One suggestion, can you add another port on your antenna and plot s21 ?

Or better still ... Make a 50 ohm line, put 2 ports at 2 ends, and plot s21. Change to 75ohm and resimulate

Just to confirm momentum is working ...

Thanks for your suggestion. Momentum is working fine. I say this because example that come with momentum is working fine...

I am lost here!

Another question!

How can I find the input impedance of schottky diode using ADS simulation? I want to find out impedance on 2.45 GHz ?

I do not have ADS ... but I imagine you can put a DC voltage port on the diode, vary the DC voltage and plot S11 ?
