Title: Capacitor mismatch in sampler/DAC Post by DesertFox on Sep 25th, 2015, 12:14pm How does capacitor mismatch depend on the value of the capacitor? Is it the same as mosfets i.e. with increase of area the mismatch reduces? If I am not limited by kT/C noise in sampler (my design has multiple samplers), can I go arbitrarily low with the value of the capacitor or is it limited after a certain resolution? |
Title: Re: Capacitor mismatch in sampler/DAC Post by loose-electron on Sep 29th, 2015, 9:52pm matching improves with size - unique to foundry data should be sought out. as for smaller capacitors? Eventually KT/C noise gets you, or the charge injection of the switches starts to become a significant part of the error, or leakage into a gate starts to become an error source. |
