Title: read spice into DFII Post by sandy on Jul 2nd, 2003, 1:10am Hi, I need to read spice into DFII. I have tried to import the spi using import CDL. It imported the netlist, but in the schametic, I can see nothing. I have tried to give reference library, but not working either. Anyone has some experience about it? Thanks a lot for your comments sandy |
Title: Re: read spice into DFII Post by sandy on Jul 2nd, 2003, 1:37am hi, Some update. I have tried to specify the schema lib. I can see the trasistor now. but they all stacked together and can not move. any idea? |
Title: Re: read spice into DFII Post by Andrew Beckett on Jul 4th, 2003, 10:29am Sandy, The Import-CDL route does not create an editable schematic. The resulting cellView contains all the instances and connectivity (i.e. the logical information), but not physical information. It's netlistable, but not editable as a schematic. There's an enhancement under way to produce a real schematic from the imported data as part of the CDL import - and also to provide greater control (greater than none, that is) over the mapping of devices. Currently we have a couple of services solutions available if you need something now - which can create an editable (yet perhaps not terribly pretty) schematic and take care of mapping of transistors to a particular design kit. It _can_ be made to work, but usually requires some effort (and often SKILL code) to be truly successful with it as it stands right now. Regards, Andrew. |
