Title: Re: how can i simulate pll's phase noise with HSPI Post by August West on Mar 18th, 2004, 9:09pm There are two cases to consider. If the phase noise is deterministic (due to deterministic noise on the supply, dead-band jitter, etc.) you just run a very long transient and post-process the waveforms to extract the zero crossings. If the phase noise is due to non-deterministic sources, such as thermal or flicker noise sources, you'll need to turn in your HSpice license for a SpectreRF license. And frankly, you'll be happy you did. SpectreRF is very cool. -August |
Title: Re: how can i simulate pll's phase noise with HSPI Post by Spice_Oracle on May 20th, 2004, 3:42pm There is a new extension to HSPICE called HSPICE RF that includes oscillator steady state analysis and phase noise analysis. If you are a HSPICE user, this might be the best solution since it allows you to use your existing HSPICE netlist and model libraries. |
