hi, I am new to verilog, can someone help me with the following problems:  how to read data using the $readmem? what format the data file should be saved as? Thanks!

You may want to try the $table_model function to do this. It is described under "interpolation" in the Nov 2004 V2.2 Accellera manual ( section 10.12, p 232 ).

If using $readmem - read the Verilog Reference manual that comes with the software.

Reading the manual is generally a wise thing to do before asking the whole world.
