:(
can somebody please tell me how to save values of quantites into a file for post processing. I am using cadence virtuoso simulator for VHDL-AMS. Data can be exported and saved into csv format if one goes through the GUI, but is there an alternative so that I dont have to go through the GUI and save the results in csv format into a file ? Also if this is not possible, can I write the value of quantities into a file while simulation along with the simulation time "now" ? If so how ? If it is a branch quantity, how do I write it and if it is declared as a port how do I mention the terminals it needs to be connected between and then write it to a file?

Please help me with this. It is very important for me to know how to do this in order to carry on with my Thesis.

Thanks in advance.
Paula.

Hi,

you can use the textio package to read/write text files. Descriptions are available on multiple locations on the web:
http://www.eng.auburn.edu/department/ee/mgc/vhdl.html#textio
http://lsm.epfl.ch/webdav/site/lsm/users/104020/public/VHDL_instant_v2.1.pdf
http://www.amontec.com/fix/vhdl_memo/

Writing multiple variables to a single line is illustrated here:
http://www.vhdl.org/comp.lang.vhdl/FAQ1.html#text_files

Good luck
Paul
