Title: T&H for testing ADC on PCB
Post by SATurn on Oct 8th, 2006, 5:45am

Hi,

To test and measure the performance of a high-speed ADC, I need:

1) a high-performance T&H (from speed and accuracy point of view [fs=100-Msps, Bit=12]),
2) a robust reference voltage (I am using accurate voltage source and I just need a good buffer with a very low output cut off frequency).

Is there any suggestion for implementing these circuits on PCB?

Many thanks in advance,
SATurn

... If any body is interested:

I found some "track-and-hold" products suitable for high-speed applications, however the main problem is that they generally need ECL input clocks needs an ECL buffer. So, adds the total PCB (printed circuit board) complexity. The next problem is that they are single-input, single-output!

For generating reliable reference voltage on PCB; there are some good suggestions on "Maxim" application notes list ...
