Title: Sigma Delta output spectrum
Post by Sarig on Nov 15th, 2007, 3:24pm

Hello,
I fail to understand. why when looking at Sigma Delta output spectrum I see that the noise reach ~-40dB at its maximum. how do I calculate this maximum ? why it is not 10log(1/12fs) ?

Thanks,
Erez

Erez,

The most likely explanation is that numerical noise is being introduced during the
conversion from time to frequency. You can see the following link for some hints
about how to effectively simulate Sigma-Delta converters.
