Title: Bug in mtline
Post by setb2609 on Jan 12th, 2008, 1:30pm

Hi there,

I seems that I found a bug in the mtline odel in mmsim 6.0 - here it is  just for the record ...

When I choose the FiledSolver (and sublossline) not the values for the loss tnagent are written into the netlist for "dloss" but instead the values for the "dielectric layer thickness" are just duplicated here - this results in some kind of shorting to ground in my case ;)

Anyway - if there are other known problems with the mtline-model in mmsim please let me know ...

Oh - and if someone has a fix or workaround for this bug - so thar I  don't have to edit the netlist anymore - I would realy love to hear about it ...

Furtheron I'm still wondering why the value of C11 in the rlgc file is - after calculation by the cadence field solver - is only about half the value as the one that I calculated by other tools for the same dimensions ?

Hello,
The issue where mtline incorrectly generates netlist and rlgc file
is fixed in IC 5.10.41.500.4.59

It is not a spectre bug - it was actually netlisting bug in ADE.

I recommend upgrading your software to IC5.1.41USR5 and MMSIM (spectre) 6.2.1.
MMSIM (spectre) 6.0 is quite old.

If interested, you can email me and I will send you an appNote on mtline.  Alternately, you
can download it from sourcelink.cadence.com .

best regards,

Tawna
