Title: Difference between sideband and harmonics in
Post by buntysworld on Jun 19th, 2008, 7:42am

Hi all...

I know its really basic question. but these terms confuse me a lot when i am doing PSS / PAC  analysis for my design.
So can anyone give me brief difference between them.

Thanks in advance!!!

1.) Sidebands of a composite waveform - as a result of a kind of modulation -  are always equally spaced and located to the left and to the right of a frequency (which normally is called: carrier).
2.) Harmonics are multiples of a fundamental frequency only.
For example: An ideal squarewave consists of the fundamental and only uneven harmonics.
