Title: string length Post by lynn on Mar 13th, 2009, 6:23am Hello everybody, I'm new in VHDL-AMS and now I'm working to my diploma thesis. My problem is that I don't know if I can, and if it is possible i don't know how to declare a string with variable length. I mean that i used the declaration "variable value:string(1 to 10)", but with this value I read from a stimulus file different words with different lengths. I looked in "The system designers's guide to VHDL-AMS" book, the example from page 662, but in my file after the word that I try to read is "end of line" so I can not put some empty spaces after the word to have at the end 10 characters in that string. Therefore, do you know if it is possible to have a string with variable length? :-/ Thank you, Lynn |
