I read the paper

But I really confused with
equation (1) for UDJ

Vudj/Vprbs7 = tanh(7Tck/2t)

and equation (6) for DDJ

DDJpp[UI] = (t/Tb)ln((1+exp(-Tmin/t)/(1+exp(-Tmax/t))))

The paper doesn't show where the equations come from. Can someone here tell me something about them? Thanks,
