Title: how to apply .vcd(.trn) stimulus to cadence schematic?
Post by visbi on Aug 1st, 2013, 5:58pm

Hi Friends,

I am just wondering if I can apply stimulus as vcd(.trn) file to cadence schematic. I have access to cadence 615 and generally use virtuoso AMS simulator fro simulating verilog and cadence schematic.

How can I provide inputs from vcd file to cadence schematic?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

-Thanks in advance.

visbi,
yes, you can use (E)VCD. Setup->Simulation Files.

Thanks for help. But could you please elaborate? I have a verilog symbol in my cadence schematic. I need to apply inputs as VCD . How to simulate using ADE ?

I've been looking into this myself recently. Most of the documentation is in the Ultrasim User's Guide. You need to create an info file to go with your VCD file which contains voltage thresholds, rise/fall times, etc. I would get it working on a small test case before trying your full circuit.

Visbi,

First need to separate the schematic tool, Virtuoso Schematic
Editor [VSE], from the simulator. From the schematic window,
can open the simulation environment window. From the simulation
window, you define the stimulus and specify your stimulus.
