Title: Current storage Post by Mir on Aug 2nd, 2014, 1:11pm Y is it easy to store current on capacitors than voltage in inductors |
Title: Re: Current storage Post by aaron_do on Aug 2nd, 2014, 6:08pm I assume you mean it the other way around......in order to store energy in an inductor's magnetic field, the current would have to be continuously circulating. So you would need a lossless short circuit. Its much easier to make a low-loss open circuit... |
Title: Re: Current storage Post by loose-electron on Aug 3rd, 2014, 2:42pm One Word: Resistance. For perfect energy storage, A capacitor needs infinite parallel resistance and an inductor needs zero series resistance. |
